Guardian Sanitaryware

Case Study:

Lamplas Developing Durable Sanitaryware for TBS Group.

Introduction:

Lamplas, a leader in composite manufacturing, partnered with TBS Group to solve a persistent challenge: preventing ceramic WCs and basins from being frequently smashed.

By leveraging their expertise in vandal-resistant sanitaryware, Lamplas created custom solutions that improved durability and reduced maintenance costs, ensuring long-term reliability in demanding environments.

Project Overview:

TBS Group approached Lamplas seeking a robust solution to frequent damage to ceramic WCs and basins. The challenge was to create a product that could withstand harsh use while fitting the existing fixing positions in the installation cells. Lamplas needed to develop a stronger, repairable alternative to traditional ceramic sanitaryware while ensuring seamless integration into the current infrastructure.

Key Contributions:

Custom Tooling for Precise Fit

Although Lamplas already offered a range of vandal-resistant sanitaryware, this project required bespoke retooling to match the exact hole fixing positions of TBS Groups’ existing installations. This precision ensured that the newly designed products would be compatible with the current setup, simplifying the transition and installation process.

Solid Surface Basin and Toilet Design

Lamplas engineered a solid surface basin and toilet that were significantly stronger than their ceramic counterparts. The solid surface material not only offered enhanced durability but also provided the ability to be reworked and repaired if damaged, extending the lifespan of the fixtures and reducing replacement costs.

Innovative Toilet with Built-In Seat

To enhance durability and functionality, Lamplas designed the toilet with an integrated seat. For environments requiring additional security, Lamplas provided the option of a heavy-duty lid that could be fitted using high-security screws, ensuring resistance to vandalism and unauthorised removal.

Outcome:

The collaboration resulted in a durable and vandal-resistant sanitaryware solution that met TBS Groups’ needs. The new solid surface basin and toilet dramatically reduced the frequency of breakage, cutting down on maintenance and replacement costs. The innovative design provided a long-lasting, cost-effective, and secure solution, significantly enhancing the durability and functionality of the installations.
